Michaud's second-half goal earns SAIT a tie against Kodiaks

CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 5, 2019) - In a battle of two of the best teams in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) South Division, a tie should not be that unexpected.

The SAIT Trojans men's soccer team hosted the Lethbridge College Kodiaks on Saturday, with each team leaving Cohos Commons Field unhappy with a 1-1 decision.

"A draw is never satisfying for us, because we're looking to win every game," said Trojans head coach Connor Brady. "We're a bit disappointed, but with that said, there were a lot of positives that we can take away from today's game."

SAIT moves to 4-1-1 on the season, while the Kodiaks see their record go to 5-1-1.

"We're halfway through the season now, and looking to improve every day," Brady added. "That is the message I will relay to the lads, as we look to have success at the end of the year."

Ben Knight scored the lone goal for the visitors, while Zach Michaud (1st year, Calgary, Nutrition for Healthy Lifestyles) came into the game in the second half and immediately paid dividends when he tied the game for SAIT.

The Trojans will now hit the road on Sunday, as they head south to Medicine Hat to take on the Rattlers. Game time is set for 2pm.

"Three points is the goal," Brady stated. "We'll prepare for it the same way we prepared for today's game, and hope for a better result."
