Bio

Steve Shoults enters his second season as the head coach of the SAIT Trojans women's basketball program with over 11 years of collegiate coaching experience, bringing a history of success and leadership to the program. Known for cultivating competitive squads, Steve has guided teams to seven ACAC Final Four Appearances, including a memorable ACAC championship in the 2017/18 season. This includes two trips to the national championships and the 2015/16 ACAC South Coach of the Year.

Throughout his coaching career, Steve has demonstrated an ability to mentor and develop players, which has been reflected in the accolades earned by athletes within his program. Among the highlights is coaching a Player Of The Year, multiple CCAA Student-Athlete Academic Award winners, and most recently a player being inducted into the ACAC Hall of Fame. Steve takes pride in the culture fostered on and off the court.

Prior to stepping into the college coaching ranks, he spent significant time coaching at the high school and club levels, most notably with the Outwest Basketball Club. There, he refined his coaching philosophy, focusing on fundamentals, teamwork, and player development. This foundation has carried into his collegiate coaching, where Steve has continued to mentor young athletes and prepare them for success at the next level.

Steve brings a vision of championship-level basketball to the women's program, emphasizing both athletic and personal growth while prioritizing both competitive excellence and holistic development.
